Hackers planning fresh PSN attack?

With PSN seemingly on the verge of a return to service, worrying rumours have emerged online claiming that Sony is being targeted for a third PSN attack this weekend.

CNET reports that talk on the Internet Relay Chat channel used by hackers suggests that one group is planning a major offensive on PSN this weekend – potentially the same time period that Sony is aiming to begging bringing PSN back online.

The hackers involved have pledged to publicise all the information they obtain from Sony’s servers and, even more worryingly, claim to already have access to some of Sony’s new servers.

The news comes as Sony head Sir Howard Stringer has spoken out on the crisis for the first time, apologising for the disruption and pledging a swift return for PSN.
