Halo 5 exec producer becomes 343i studio head

Microsoft veteran, Chris Lee, is taking over as studio head of first person shooter projects at Halo developer 343 Industries.

Lee, who according to his public LinkedIn page has been a part of Microsoft for around 15 years, takes over from Dan Ayoub, who has moved to Microsoft’s Mixed Reality depeartment as reported last week.

Serving as executive producer on Halo 5: Guardians, Lee has been with 343i since 2009, starting on Halo 4. Prior to this, Lee held several positions within Microsoft Game Studios.

The appointment comes as Microsoft confirm that Halo 6 will not be shown at this years E3, which also looks to be the big reveal for the Project Scorpio console and its initial line up. However, Microsoft community manager Brain Jarred did state that there would be "a little something" to show, and that it would not be an anniversary edition of Halo 3. The title will be ten years old this September.
