Halo: Master Chief Collection landing on Xbox One this year – report

Halo: The Master Chief Collection – a bundle packing remastered versions of the four numbered Halo releases – will reportedly launch later this year on Xbox One.

Engadget sources claim the package features Halo: Combat Evolved, Halo 2, Halo 3 and Halo 4 – but omits other titles in the franchise such as Halo 3: ODST, Halo: Reach and Halo Wars.

Halo: Combat Evolved is the only game of the four to receive a remastered edition thus far. It was co-developed by Saber Interactive and Certain Affinity and released in 2011 for Xbox 360. The studio attached to the reported collection is currently unknown.

Microsoft has declined comment on the report, which comes on the heels of 343 Industries’ Halo 5: Guardians reveal.
