Ico creator’s departure from Sony confirmed

The Last Guardian boss Fumito Ueda has left Sony but will finish the PS3 adventure game on a contract basis.

Sony sent a statement to Gamasutra confirming the news that he is no longer an employee at the publisher but is committed to completing” The Last Guardian project.

Ueda is the creator of two well regarded PS2 games Ico and Shadow of the Collosus. He joined Sony in 1997.

PS3 exclusive The Last Guardian is currently due for release next year.
