Infogrames sales up, Europe the star performer

For the three months up to June 30th, overall first quarter sales rose to reach a €50.1 million, up around 13 per cent. European sales were the highlight, up 68 per cent to €34.4m, but the US operation suffered a 51 per cent decline in business, while sales in Asia were described as ‘flat’ by Reuters.

Nintendo DS and PS2 software accounted for the majority of game sales, representing 35 per cent and 32 per cent of sales respectively. New generation consoles like Wii and 360 accounted for 20 per cent of turnover, up from four per cent.

The french firm added that the results were provisional, pending the finalisation of its US subsiduary (Atari Inc) accounts.
