A number of developers depart due to 'shifting business imperatives'

Layoffs hit staff at Warner Bros. Seattle

An unknown number of employees at Warner Bros. Seattle have been laid off.

This is the second time in as many years the studio has seen job cutbacks, and it is rumored that as many as 60 employees have been affected.

The office houses multiple studios, including Monolith Productions, Snowblind Studios, and Surreal Software.

"Due to shifting business imperatives, WB Games Seattle has made staff reductions," a company spokesperson told Joystiq.

"The group will continue to remain an integral part of Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment."

WB Seattle is currently working on Lord of The Rings: Guardians of Middle-Earth.
