Lovefilm launching PS3 service

It has been revealed with little fanfare that leading European game and movie rental firm Lovefilm is to launch a streaming movie service on Sony’s PlayStation Network for PS3 owners.

The announcement came via a video on the PS3 YouTube channel, which can be seen here.

Users will be able to choose between instant streaming of movies through their console or instead ordering discs to be posted to them. The Lovefilm app will also allow members to manage their movie and game rental lists.

Lovefilm is due to hit PS3 next month.
