Arons will take the role of general manager at Machinima

Machinima CEO Chad Gutstein to leave the company, to be replaced by Russell Arons

Media platform Machinima’s CEO Chad Gutstein will soon leave the company, to be replaced by marketing executive Russell Arons.

Russell Arons currently holds the title of senior vice president of worldwide marketing at Warner Bros Interactive Entertainment and will be replacing Gutstein and taking on the role of Machinima’s general manager.

Arons has been with Warner Bros. since 2009 and will be taking the top job after what Warner Bros is referring to as a "multi-week transition plan." She’s got previous experience as head of marketing at EA Play, working with EA’s broad range of IP like The Sims and Harry Potter.

In a statement, Craig Hunegs, Warner Bros’ Television and Digital Networks groups said that Arons "speaks the same language as our Machinima creators, community and team" and has praised her ability to build valuable relationships with consumers.

He also praised the role played by Gutstein’s work on building up Machinima during three years as the company’s CEO.

Warner Brothers acquired Machinima in November 2016. Gutstein will leave the business to pursue entrepreneurial projects.
