Marvel vs Capcom 3 ships 2m units

Xbox 360 and PS3 brawler Marvel vs Capcom 3: Fate of Two Worlds has shipped over 2m copies worldwide.

The Capcom game was released in February following an 11-year hiatus for the series.

Demand for a sequel was at an all-time high, and expectations were soaring,” read a statement on the Capcom website.

Marvel vs Capcom 3 was also backed by a GAME UK sampling tour, retail pre-order goodies and ads on the Disney XD and Marvel websites.

The original Marvel vs Capcom hit arcades in 1998 before heading to consoles, with a sequel arriving shortly after.
