Mass Effect 3 gets Origin-exclusive content

Publisher EA is making good on its promise to reward those who shun rival retailers and buy direct from its own portal by dishing out freebies with upcoming RPG Mass Effect 3.

It has announced that the Digital Deluxe Edition of the game purchased on the Origin Store will include the N7 Arsenal Pack (sniper rifle, shotgun, pistol, SMG) as well as a robotic dog. Yes, a robotic dog.

Add to that some alternative costumes for Shephard’s squad, a hoody for Shephard himself (or herself, of course) a digital art book and the game’s soundtrack.

The offer is all part of EA’s grand scheme to tempt shoppers away from established offerings such as Steam and onto its own network. Earlier today it announced freebies to those who download its iOS Origin app.
