Medal of Honor sells 1.5 million

Electronic Arts has announced that Medal of Honor has sold more than 1.5 million units worldwide.

The reboot of the long-running FPS series achieved this figure after only five days on sale in the US and two days after its European and Asian release. It debuted at No.1 in the UK charts this week.

Medal of Honor is one of EA’s most storied franchises and we’re thrilled to see that fans worldwide have embraced it,” said EA president Frank Gibeau. In this ultra competitive category, Medal of Honor stands out from the pack.”

To celebrate this sales milestone, the publisher has announced it will release a free multiplayer mode on November 2nd.

The all-new Clean Sweep mode is an elimination mode and comes with four special maps. Two will be brand new locations, while two will be redesigned versions of popular maps already available in Medal of Honor.
