Michael Phelps game in development

In a recent airing of the long running American television news magazine 60 Seconds, Olympic gold medal winning swimmer Michael Phelps was profiled, revealing the news that he is to be the subject of a video game.

While no other details of the title have been revealed, Phelps, who smashed the world record for the most medals won by one athlete at any Olympic games at the recent Beijing event, has had some experience working with games, including his role starring in a commercial for Guitar Hero: World Tour.

Some are suggesting that thanks to Phelp’s ties with Activision, which also materialised when he was presented with a copy of Call of Duty: World at War on The Early Show, the publisher may be behind the title based on the athlete.

However, no official announcement has been made by Activision or any other publisher.
