Microsoft cuts Games-On-Demand prices

Xbox 360 platform holder Microsoft has cut the price of a number of titles on its Xbox Live Games-On-Demand service in several territories – but not, it seems, in the UK.

Four games have seen their prices cut from $29.99 to $19.99 in the North American Marketplace – BioShock, Civilization Revolution, Prey and MX vs ATV Untamed.

However, Microsoft has not detailed which territories are and are not scheduled to receive the discounts, and the UK Xbox Live store isn’t currently showing any price drops.

Microsoft’s Games-On-Demand service aroused concern amongst some retailers upon its unveiling last year, but its across-the-board 20 price point for titles left it far behind retail in price terms.

However, the introduction of price cuts to Microsoft’s digital catalogue could once again spark fear across the retail sector.

MCV has contacted Microsoft for clarification.
