Minecraft sells 3m copies on XBLA

Mojang has announced the Xbox Live Arcade version of Minecraft has reached 3m copies sold.

Markus ‘Notch’ Persson announced the milestone on Twitter late last week.

The downloadable title released back in early May, shattering XBLA records by moving over 1m units in just five days. When the game surpassed the 2m mark soon after, Mojang proudly proclaimed it to be the best-selling XBLA game ever.

Minecraft was closing in on 10m sold across all platforms as of late May.
