Mirror’s Edge 2 could be called ‘Catalyst’

Cult first person title Mirror’s Edge appears odds-on to feature at EA’s E3 2015 press presentation.

Mirror’s Edge 2 has officially never been given a name and signs now point to the possible name of Mirror’s Edge Catalyst. The word itself was teased by the game’s twitter account, while IGN spotted a trademark filing from the company for computer game software called ‘Mirror’s Edge Catalyst’.

Mirror’s Edge 2 was put on hold as far back as 2011 when DICE boss Patrick Soderlund confirmed that work on the game had stalled” and that staff had been shifted onto other projects.

The game was then re-announced in 2013, when Soderlund described it as an open-world action adventure game”. He added that while proud of the 2008 original, DICE felt that it had fallen short in many aspects and desperately wanted to make a new instalment.

A trailer for the game was shown at E3 last year but details remained scarce, although DICE did offer some insight into how it is revisiting main protagonist Faith.
