DICE says sequel to adventurous action title was in development but poor sales scuppered plans

Mirror’s Edge 2 project ‘held back’

Hopes of a sequel to 2008 first person platform outing Mirror’s Edge appear to have diminished with word from EA-owned developer DICE that the project has been put on hold.

In an interview translated from Swedish games site Vicachu, DICE boss Patrick Soderlund says that sales of the first game "were not as good as expected".

Furthermore, development on a sequel had actually started, with a prototype having been shown off behind closed doors.

The bad news though is that all work on the game has "stalled", with those who were working on the title having shifted their attentions to other, unspecified projects.
