MotorStorm Apocalypse coming to PS3

As was predicted earlier this week, the third iteration in Sony’s racing series MotorStorm will play a big role in the platform holder’s E3 press conference on Tuesday.

Called MotorStorm Apocalypse, the series for the first time turns to an urban setting – an abandoned city. 13 classes of vehicle will be available including the likes of motorbikes, muscle cars and, for the first time, helicopters..

40 tracks will ship on the disc, though the addition of Split/Second-style real-time dynamic events” will ensure that even within a single race dramatic changes will occur on-track.

The single-player game will have more of a character focus whereas multiplayer will come in both four player split-screen and 16 player online guises. Custom race types and online asset sharing will also be available.

MotorStorm Apocalypse is due out on PS3 in 2011.
