MS responds to Mass Effect on PS3

Platform holder Microsoft has issued an official response to the news that the once Xbox 360 and PC only RPG series Mass Effect will be heading to the PS3 with the release of Mass Effect 2 on Sony’s console in January.

The first game in the series, however, will not be making the move to PS3 – though you can be sure that Mass Effect 3 will.

With both Mass Effect titles launching first on Xbox 360 combined with the wealth of available paid downloadable content on Xbox Live today, Xbox 360 remains the best place to experience the Mass Effect franchise,” a Microsoft statement given to IGN reads.

And the original Mass Effect is absolutely an Xbox 360 exclusive, making Xbox 360 the only place to get the full Mass Effect experience.”

EA has since confirmed that the PS3 version will also include all of the content released digitally on Xbox Live since the game’s release in January.
