Naughty Dog hints at possible PS4 release for The Last of Us

Hopes for a PS4 version of The Last of Us seem to have increased, even if only a little bit.

As spotted by CVG, when asked about a possible PS4 re-release for the PS3 hit on the PlayStation Blog, Naughty Dog’s community manager Eric Monacelli replied:

We’re just getting our Naughty Dog engine up and running on PS4 as we work on the next Uncharted project. We will see what the future brings!”

The wildly different architectures of PS3 and PS4 mean that simply porting titles from one platform to the other is an impossible task – instead, any cross-platform releases would have to be massively re-worked for the new platform.
