New EA studio working on C&C

In an announcement now pulled from the official website, it looks as if EA is on the verge of revealing both a new wholly owned developer and a brand new instalment in the Command &Conquer series.

Rock Paper Shotgun says that a total revamp of the franchise’s website announced both a new mystery C&C title, a new community manager and even a new EA studio.

Called Victory Games, it apparently has three bases – LA, Texas and Shanghai. It will be tasked with heading up all of EA’s strategy development going forwards.

In an interview that vanished along with the new site build, Victory boss Jon Van Caneghem stated: Our current focus is making a AAA Command & Conquer game, which I am very excited to be working on.

It’s a Command & Conquer game for the PC, but we’re not yet at a stage where I can go into any details— we’ll be prepared to make a more formal announcement later in the year.

"We’re not just working on a game, though. Our general focus is on the future of Command & Conquer. That means updating a lot of the core technology to create a stable base for future development, and leveraging that work on this first game.”
