Nexon hires new chief financial officer

Korean studio Nexon has hired former EA SVP of corporate and business development Owen Mahoney as its new chief financial officer.

Mahoney, who has over 15 years experience in finance, was also most recently the CEO of online game publisher Outspark. In his new position he will be responsible for leading the firm’s global financial efforts, working from Nexon’s Tokyo and Los Angeles offices.

“Nexon is clearly on the cutting edge of the online gaming business and is changing the way games are being played,” Mahoney said.

“Players around the world are responding positively to the company’s business model, resulting in huge numbers of customers and expanding revenues. It’s an exciting place to be.”
