Now Sony America is resetting PSN passwords

Some American PSN users have had their account passwords reset by Sony.

Sony Europe last week did the same for some users on this side of Atlantic as a precautionary measure” following the detection of some non-specific irregular activity”.

The same it seems is now true in the US.

We routinely monitor for irregular activity,” a rep told Kotaku. If such activity is detected, we may sometimes reset passwords of affected SEN accounts as a precautionary measure to protect consumers and their account information.”

There’s no suggestion that anything other than a handful of users have been affected.
