O-Games files lawsuit against Ubisoft

OG International has filed a legal complaint against Ubisoft arguing its dancing game does not infringe copyright on Ubi’s Just Dance.

The publisher’s Get Up and Dance game (pictured) is out on November 4th for Wii and PS3 Move. It’s due to be released under OG’s O-Games label.

Get Up And Dance is a creative, innovative and fun dance and fitness game,” said Jim Scott, CEO of OG International.

We have a great product with strong unique features like Group Mode, which allowsdancers to dance and score together in their own dance group. We are disappointed that Ubisoft has made unjustified accusations about our game and forced us to file a complaint.”

OG argues that Get Up and Dance did not and does not constitute unfair competition under federal and California state laws”. It has filed a complaint for declaratory judgement against Ubisoft.

MCV has contacted OG and Ubisoft for clarification.
