Oddworld: Strangers Wrath goes HD

2005 Xbox release Oddworld: Strangers Wrath is to get an HD makeover and be re-released on Sony’s PlayStation Network.

Its arrival will mark the first time an Oddworld game has appeared on a PlayStation console since 1998.

Developed by Just Add Water, the game will boast 720p HD visuals and a host of other new graphical tweaks, as well as re-mastered dialogue and, crucially, PlayStation Move support.

The studio is working closely with Oddworld Inhabitants founders Lorne Lanning and Sherry McKenna to ensure that the port remains a faithful remake.

Since word got out that we’ve been working with Oddworld Inhabitants there have been many rumours circulating about what we’re working on,” JAW MD Stewart Gilray stated.

Oddworld: Stranger’s Wrath is the first project in what we believe will be a long and fruitful relationship. Having the chance to update this great title and release it on PS3 is just a brilliant opportunity, not least for us, but for the fans too.”

The game is due out next Easter.
