OG wins court battle

A Californian court has blocked Ubisoft’s request for a temporary restraining order on Get Up and Dance.

OG International’s dance title was allowed to go on sale as usual in the US. Its UK release was unaffected. Ubisoft claimed Get Up and Dance uses avatars and instructors that look ‘nearly identical’ to Just Dance’s.

But US District Judge Charles R. Breyer said: Ubisoft has not clearly demonstrated likelihood they are substantially similar.”

OG CEO Jim Scott added:?We are pleased Judge Breyer concluded that Ubisoft had no grounds to prevent us from proceeding with the commercial launch and distribution of Get Up and Dance."

Ubisoft said it has appealed the court’s decision.
