57 independent developers signed up to bring content to online platform

Origin doubles userbase to 21 million in 3 months

EA’s digital distribution platform Origin has surpassed more than 21 million users, the publisher has revealed.

This means that since last revealing that the service had attracted 11m customers in May, the PC portal has attracted more than 10m customers in less than three months.

The publisher also said it now had deals with 57 independent developers to bring content to Origin.

Despite its impressive numbers and growth, EA’s PC digital storefront still trails behind Valve’s Steam platform, which reported more than 40 million users as of January this year.
