Original Resident Evil being remastered for PS4, Xbox One, PC and last-gen

Capcom has announced a 1080p remake of its 1996 survival horror classic Resident Evil.

THe assets released so far appear to show a build based around the 2002 GameCube remake, although this new version will have an all-new visual makeover, complete with the option to switch between 16:9 and 4:3 aspect ratios.

Interestingly players will also have the choice between the original ‘pivot’ control scheme and a more modern alternative where players move according to the direction of the analogue stick.

The game is due for a digital launch on PS4, Xbox One, PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 in early 2015. 1080p support will only feature in the next-gen and PC versions.
