Over 900 UK stores to open at midnight tomorrow for Assassin’s Creed III

Wednesday’s launch of Assassin’s Creed III looks set to be one of the biggest game launches of 2012 – and, MCV reckons – possibly of all time in the UK.

Ubisoft has revealed that over 900 stores will open their doors just before midnight tomorrow (Tuesday October 30th) across GAME, HMV, Blockbuster, GameStop, Xtra Vision, Tesco, Sainsbury, Asda and Smyths Toys.

This represents an unprecedented success for Ubisoft and Assassin’s Creed III already,” a spokesperson for the publisher told MCV.

GAME last week revealed its plans for the title’s midnight openings that include special events at its Stratford and Hull stores.

Assassin’s Creed III has already broken Ubisoft’s pre-order records.

Assassin’s Creed III is one of the most anticipated games of the year, and this impressive pre-order mark is just a hint of the game’s potential,” Ubisoft’s marketing boss Geoffroy Sardin stated.

When players discover the new features, historical period, characters and gaming experience that the development team has worked so hard to create, we’re confident that they will agree that this is the biggest, best Assassin’s Creed game yet.”
