Potter mania returns to games retail

The web may be awash with talk of the Pottermore site right now, but games retail has plenty to look forward to from Harry Potter.

Publisher Electronic Arts is promoting the latest Potter video game – Deathly Hallows Part 2 – throughout the summer. It arrives alongside the movie on July 15th.

Ads will run online to attract core Harry Potter fans, while cinema spots will showcase the game to UK film-goers. EA will feature Deathly Hallows 2 in its summer events – and it will partner with the film studio Warner Bros UK to get the game in front of Potter fans.

The game series has grossed over $1bn and has sold over 40m units to date, and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 game is set to continue this success,” EA product manager Kuran Kapoor told MCV.
