PS Now rental options appear on PlayStation Store

The option to rent titles via PlayStation network has been spotted in the wild.

As reported by PSNStores, Deep Silver title Catherine currently offers one, seven and 30 day rental options upon checkout (currently priced at free). Nothing happens when trying to complete the purchase, although an entry appears under the Services List called Catherine PS Now”.

Earlier this week a mock-up menu image on the Gaikai website pointed to the pending introduction of streaming options via PSN.

Sony is expected to introduce PS3 and possibly PS2 streaming rental options on the PlayStation Store some time later this year in the US with a European launch looking likely for 2015, although don’t rule out an earlier move.
