PS3 adds wireless DualShock 4 compatibility

The latest PS3 firmware update has quietly added wireless compatibility for Sony’s latest DualShock 4 controller.

The DS4 was already compatible with some titles when connected to PS3 via a wire, but this is the first time that it’s been usable wirelessly.

Note that some compatibility issues remain and the device isn’t recognised as an official controller, meaning some functions – such as the PS Button, vibration and motion control – still aren’t supported.

Instructions on getting it all up and running can be found on Reddit.
