PS3 could get 3D slider

The upcoming Sly Cooper Collection could be the first 3D game on PS3 to include a software ‘slider’ that would allow the user to control the amount of 3D effect applied to the graphics.

A Sony producer told Kotaku that such a feature would prevent a user having to position themselves in a particular way to see the optimum 3D effect. Instead, they would be able to customise the distance at which they have to sit to see things exactly as the developers intended.

The idea mirrors the ethos followed by Nintendo in the design of the 3DS. Users will be able to tweak a small slider on the side of the device that will alter the strength of the effect until it suits their eyes. The 3D effect can also be turned off completely.
