PSN Christmas apology discounts roll out this week

A ten per cent discount will be available to PSN users this weekend as par of Sony’s apology for the service’s Christmas outage.

Kicking off at 9:00am this Friday (January 23rd) and running until 9:00am the following Monday (January 26th), PSN users will be able to use a promotional code for a ten per cent discount from their cart.

Note that exclusions do apply – some games will be exempt, as are subscriptions, video rentals and pre-orders. To be eligible purchases must also be made on PS4, PS3 or via Sony’s online store, meaning the code cannot be used on Vita, PS TV or PSP.

PlayStation Plus members will also receive a free five-day extension to their membership. Emails about that will arrive in the coming days”.

The compensation is designed to make up for the downtime PSN experienced at the hands of DDoS attackers over Christmas.
