PSP2 was shown off at TGS

As news breaks of a PSPgo price cut in America and Japan, further claims have emerged about what Sony has planned for the still unannounced PSP2.

Rumours of a rear-mounted touch panel have been buzzing about for some time, and Kotaku claims to have further confirmation of such a feature from a dev who was introduced to the new portable at a behind closed doors meeting at the Tokyo Game Show.

The panel is said to look much like a large mouse trackpad, and Sony is supposedly inviting devs to be as creative as possible regarding its implementation in games.

PSP2 reportedly also has a larger screen than the current machine – about one inch larger in fact – and Sony has in private been referring to the screen as being HD.

Kotaku adds that the PSP2’s hardware has not yet been finalised and that the platform holder is facing some issues attempting to balance battery, power and heat. It also touts a launch window of autumn 2011.
