Report: Microsoft to unveil rival iPad tablet

Microsoft is set to take on Apple with the unveiling of a new tablet on Monday, according to a report.

A source “with knowledge of the company” told The Wrap that the computing giant was set to make a “major announcement” during a special event in LA.

The venue for the reveal has yet to be confirmed, but it is reportedly scheduled to take place at 3:30pm.

It is believed the Microsoft-manufactured tablet will run on Windows RT, and may use an ARM processor.

Microsoft has declined to comment.
