Reports emerge of Origin account hijacks

A number of EA Origin users have reportedly had their accounts compromised.

One Eurogamer writer claims to have received an email from EA saying that his account’s password or email address or both have successfully been changed – a request that was never made.

There are also reports that consumers who have contacted EA to try and resolve the issue have had little joy in recovering their accounts.

One person even claims to have tracked down the user now linked with his account who is registered with a Russian email address.

It’s far too early to tell if the problems are widespread so don’t be too alarmed for the time being – although it might be an idea to change your Origin password just in case.
