Rock Band 2 coming this September

IGN has reported

that the ‘second generation’ music title will hit Xbox 360 in September, with further SKUs on other platforms due later this year.

The report confirms that downloadable content for the first Rock Band will be fully compatible with the sequel, while upgraded versions of the drum kit, guitar and microphone will also be launched, but no firm details on what the improvements might be have been revealed.

"As successful as the original Rock Band continues to be, we’ve now had the benefit of the last eight months to listen to our fans’ requests and to build upon that foundation," co-founder and CEO of Harmonix Alex Rigopulos told IGN. "Rock Band 2 is a second-generation band game that will elevate the music game experience to the next level."
