Famed developer thought to have met with Japanese publisher

Rumour: John Romero working with Square Enix

John Romero, the celebrated id Software developer, appears to be in talks with Square Enix.

Romero posted a status update on his Facebook profile on Saturday, tagged himself as being at Square Enix, San Francisco.

It’s not clear what, if anything, he could be working on with the publisher, but we’ll have to wait and see.

Romero is admired for has work on Doom, Wolfenstein and Quake. In the last few years, he has been making social games, including Ravenwood Fair and Pettington Park, as part of Loot Drop, the company he founded with his wife, Brenda Romero, in 2010.
