Sony: Fans are really Buzzing over this one

SCEE has heralded Buzz!: The Hollywood Quiz as ‘probably the most eagerly anticipated title in the Buzz! portfolio’.

The PS2 title, which is due in stores on October 19th, sees the Buzz! characters at an awards event in Hollywood, whilst questions relate to topics such as actors, movies and sets.

In many ways The Hollywood Quiz is probably the most eagerly anticipated title in the Buzz! portfolio,” explained product manager, Phil Lynch. We’ve obviously got lots of movie content, but we’ve also included a whole load of Hollywood ‘gossip’ trivia, which balances the game nicely.”

Developer Relentless has introduced a stack of new characters including a Bond-style villain, a pirate, a B-movie monster, a cave girl, a vampire and an action hero. Sony is confident that the game will prove a particular hit with a festive audience.

This is a relatively easy-buy for the gifting market and I’d expect a lot of people, young and old to be playing this after their Christmas lunch this year,” said Lynch.

Secondly, it successfully crosses the boundaries between gaming and entertainment – everyone loves movies, from chick flicks to action movies and everything in between.”

Sony’s marketing campaign includes taking the ‘Buzz! experience’ to Thorpe Park and Alton Towers to let potential consumers sample the product.

Print activity extends to both specialist and mainstream press, with ads that parody an iconic Hollywood starlet blubbing during her acceptance speech.
