Sony launches PlayMemories Studio for PS3

PS3 owners now have access to PlayMemories Studio, a new application that gives them new ways to browse photos and home videos.

The software lets users plug a digital camera or camcorder into their PS3 and browse through the content with a controller.

They can view pictures and videos in a timeline or filter by date, favourites, detected smiles and more. Any geotagged images can be viewed on a world map, with photos appearing where they were taken.

They can also edit videos with voice changing and sound effects or pictures with artistic styles such as sepia, soft focus and monochrome.

Photos and videos can be uploaded straight to Facebook or transferred wirelessly to Vita or PSP.

PlayMemories Studio is available to download now for a fee, or try it for free for 30 days. PlayStation Plus members get the full software as part of their subscription.
