Sony opens up host of indie tools for PlayStation development

Four popular development tools have been opened up for those hoping to develop indie titles for PS4, PS3 and Vita.

Develop reports that GameMaker: Studio and MonoGame will both be updated to include tools needed for exporting titles to PS4 for licensed Sony Computer Entertainment developers.

In addition, developers are also being offered the chance to get their hands on an early-access version of Unity for PS4, PS3 and Vita from next month.

Plus Sony is to offer to offer its Authoring Tools Framework as a free, open source download – that’s the software behind games like The Last of Us and Beyond: Two Souls.
