Sony renews PlayStation Network’s Powers television series

Sony has announced it will produce a second season of the PlayStation Network original TV series Powers.

Season Two of the company’s first original television program is scheduled for a US premiere in 2016.

"The reception to Powers has been incredible and we are thrilled to have successfully launched a platform for original content with the PlayStation gamer in mind," SCEA’s vice president of platforms marketing John Koller said.

"We believe original content will continue to be a key pillar as we broaden the value proposition for PlayStation Plus, and we’re excited for what’s to come with season two of Powers."

Powers is based on the Icon Comics graphic novel of the same name, its first season debuted on PSN in March with 10 episodes. The pilot is available to watch for free online, while the whole season is free for PlayStation Plus subscribers.
