Star Trek: Bridge Crew delayed to March 2017

Ubisoft has delayed its VR exclusive title Star Trek: Bridge Crew into 2017.

Star Trek: Bridge Crew will now launch on March 14th 2017. It was originally due to launch this year.

In order to deliver the best game experience possible at launch, we have decided to push the release of Star Trek: Bridge Crew to March 14, 2017,” said Ubisoft in its short statement. Star Trek: Bridge Crew is designed exclusively for VR and we want to offer a compelling and engaging experience. Command of the USS Aegis is right around the corner!”

The PS4 and PC VR title was revealed at E3 this year and sees players run a massive ship in the Star Trek universe, with each player having a unique role in the crew. All of this is of course in VR, with PSVR, Oculus Rift and HTC Vive support all coming at launch.

While the delay will disappoint fans, it isn’t all that surprising when you consider that Ubisoft already has two VR games out this fall. Both Eagle Flight and Werewolves Within will be available by the end of the year, making Ubisoft one of the only major publishers supporting VR in a big way.
