Steam users migrating to Windows 10

It’s taken Windows 10 just three months to overtake Windows 8 in popularity among Steam’s active users, according to Valve’s latest hardware survey.

Games Industryreports Steam’s October 2015 survey shows nearly 28 per cent of participating users have made the jump to Microsoft’s new operating system. That’s up 3 per cent from September, which itself saw an 8 per cent increase from August.

Windows 10 is now the second most used operating system behind Windows 7, combining for 42 per cent of the total between 32 and 64-bit versions.

Back in July, Microsoft began offering the new OS as afree upgradeto anyone that had a PC running one of the last couple generations of Windows.
