Sunset Overdrive has a dig at Ubisoft with Assassin’s Creed-themed female avatar

Insomniac has confirmed that gamers will be able to play as a female in Xbox One exclusive Sunset Overdrive.

And furthermore, the developer has had a little dig at Ubisoft in the process, which of course came under heavy fire for the exclusion of female characters in Assassin’s Creed: Unity (and Far Cry 4) over E3 week.

Speaking on an episode of Sunset TV, Insomniac’s Brandon Winfrey said that of course” users will be able to play as a female character, adding:

Self expression is super important to us so you can be female, you can be male, you can be different skin tones, you can be different body types, and all the clothing is gender neutral. Just be who you want to be.”

He doesn’t namedrop Ubisoft specifically, but decide for yourself whether or not you recognise the costume worn by the female character who appears at the end of the video.
