UK dev releasing 2D brawler Overruled! with the help of the Worms publisher

Team17 to publish Dlala’s next game

Independent studio Team17 continues to expand its publishing operations, now signing a deal with Dlala Studios.

The latter is releasing Overruled!, a ‘Worms-like’ 2D multiplayer brawler, later this year for PC and additional platforms that have yet to be announced.

Team17 has been ramping up the number of publishing deals it signs, helping to bring independent studios’ titles to market. It has already agreed to publish Rocket Rainbow’s Hay Ewe for mobile, and Italic Pig’s Schrödinger’s Cat and the Raiders of the Lost Quark for Steam.

Overruled! is the latest game from former Develop cover stars Dlala Studios and lets players change the rules as they play using that cards that alter the conditions of the game. Examples include increasing or decreasing the number of respawns, enabling teams or introducing new objectives like Capture the Flag.

"Overruled! simply has the potential to be a very successful real-time Worms-like game, and working together we can make this happen," said Team17 MD Debbie Bestwick.

"We get what they want to achieve and that’s building a studio with great IP – we’re here to help them achieve that dream. We’re delighted to welcome them to our amazing family of talented developers that are already part of our third-party publishing program."
