The Darkness 2 lurking in the shadows?

reports that an employee of comic publisher and The Darkness rights holder Top Cow Comics has let slip that a sequel to the title is already in the works.

The rumours claim that Starbreeze Studios, the developer of the first title and also of celebrated Xbox outing The Chronicles of Riddick, is aiming to have the game completed on Xbox 360 and PS3 by late 2008/early 2009.

2K Games, publisher of the first title, refused to comment on the story.
