THQ promises new approach to casual

Along side its plans to progress key IP such as WWE, UFC, Red Faction and Saints Row, THQ has stated that it intends to completely re-work its approach to the potentially lucrative casual sector in the year ahead.

The casual games sector is extremely challenging,” Senior VP of European publishing Rory Donnelly told MCV. Launching this in October did not allow us to be prominent on the shelves for the crucial gift-giving period, which came later in the year than usual due to the challenging economic climate worldwide.

We plan to approach this market differently next year.”

The claims come as a result of last year’s Wii, DS and PC release World of Zoo, which Donnelly says did not fully live up to our expectations”.
