THQ: UFC Undisputed 3 sold 1.4m units, needed 2m to break even

THQ has revealed that the latest in its recently sold UFC franchise had failed to break even.

Gamasutra reports the publisher spoke to Wedbush Securities analyst Michael Pachter, revealing that two million units sold for UFC Undisputed 3 would have been the break-even point.

The title has moved over 1.4m units since launch, and was the third highest-selling US title in February of this year.

The sale of the franchise to EA, which announced the news during its E3 press conference, resulted in the closing of THQ’s San Diego office.
