New studio HumaNature looking to 'push boundaries of interactive emotional AI'

ToeJam & Earl creator developing Sony exclusive

The creator of the popular ToeJam & earl has formed a new studio developing a Sony exclusive title, according to a new job listing.

As uncovered on Neogaf, the new US-based studio HumaNature, led by industry veteran Greg Johnson, is looking for developers to create a first-party title for “a major Japanese publisher”.

Johnson also revealed on Tech-artists that the title would be developed “directly for Sony”.

The listing for a senior level designer describes the new game as attempting to “push the boundaries of interactive emotional AI and visual story-telling”. It will also target a “cross gender audience” from a broad age-range in the US, Japan, South Korea and Europe.

The job posting states that applicants should have a good working knowledge of different approaches to UI, state-based AI, goal oriented and open-ended game structures.
